Acne and pimples

Even if you wash your face with soap ten times a day, wipe it with alcohol and degreasing lotions, cleanse it with scrubs and systematically squeeze pimples, you will never get rid of acne. It is impossible to cure this plague, but it is possible to achieve long-term remission. And don’t believe “people who know” – it doesn’t go away with age. Until your skin ages, your acne won’t go away on its own.

“Maturing” acne during adolescence, when the ratio of male to female sex hormones changes. Predominantly between the ages of 11 and 13. The sebaceous glands begin to actively produce sebum. In most cases, a hereditary factor comes into play. Especially if your teenager’s skin is oily or combination.

Causes of acne and pimples

Under the influence of hormones sebaceous glands expand – pores appear on the skin. At the mouth of her duct is a rough layer of horny scales that “peel off” more quickly than usual. If it gets out of the immune system’s control, an inflammatory process develops. The microorganism feeds on glycerin of sebum, leaving after a satisfying meal «scrap» of free fatty acids, which disrupt the formation of horny scales in the sebaceous gland mouth, and make the manifestation of acne more pronounced. In contrast, the content of exogenous fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acids) decreases. “The skin becomes vulnerable – staphylococci, streptococci and other purulent infections easily settle in the sebaceous glands. When the “clogged” sebaceous gland is filled with sebum, a comedon is formed. If it does not come to the surface, the sebum “protrudes” in a white knot. If you get it, the fat is partially oxidized, it is mixed with melanin and other pigments, and the “tip” comedones blacken.

Dermatologists advise to fight acne in several stages. The first thing to do is to normalize the secretion of sebum. But don’t rush to “scrub” your face with a soapy sponge and cotton disks “infused” with alcohol. Do an experiment – “rinse” your skin with acetone. It’ll be as dry as parchment. After half an hour, the glands will actively produce sebum. There is more than enough fat in the ducts of the glands, and it cannot be taken out of there by any solvents. Another nuance – acetone destroys the thin layer of lipids that envelope the horny layer scales. It is these fat-like substances that keep the skin from drying out.” If acetone, soap or alcohol washes out the lipids, the skin will “wilt”. But acne will “bloom in full bloom.”

How to get rid of pimples and blackheads

To “dry” sebaceous glands will have to block the “miraculous transformation” of testosterone into the active hormone dihydrotestosterone – plant extracts, gamma-linolenic acid and zinc supplements. Then to fight the hyperkeratosis. NOT with scrubs – they scratch the skin like sandpaper! Squeeze out pimples is also not worth it – the walls of the sebaceous gland may rupture, and pus penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. “After a few days, a red spot will appear on that spot and subsequently an atrophic scar. If the acne is not treated, the tissue is scarred – you will have to conduct laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion or photo rejuvenation. Conclusion: “If you get pimples, go to the doctor. The beautician will perform a facial cleansing and prescribe the appropriate medication. Not the store-bought remedies – they are ineffective because they do not contain active ingredients in sufficient concentrations. Only professional cosmetics can help. Often “supported” by antibacterial agents. The barrier function of the skin will be restored by oils containing polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as blackcurrant oil, borage oil, evening primrose oil, wheat germ oil, avocado oil, etc. д. Acne is a complex problem that requires external and internal intervention, so avoid stress and overwork. Do not abuse sweets and fatty foods. Do not use cheap decorative cosmetics (especially if you “occasionally” forget to wash them off at night) and greasy creams.

A few words about cosmetics. Synthetic emollients that “spy” scrubs, masks, lotions and tonics clog pores, creating the ideal breeding ground for comedones. This substance is added to cosmetic products so that the ingredients can be absorbed by the skin as much as possible. The skin condition improves within minutes – it becomes firm, soft and smooth to the touch. Of course, it’s only an illusion. By the way, the most harmful decorative cosmetics – lipstick and blush, and it is desirable for teenage girls to limit the lip gloss.
