In folk medicine , extensive experience has been gained in lowering blood sugar levels using drugs from medicinal plants. The number of plants that can help diabetics is significant, and many of them are found everywhere and do not cause special problems in the preparation and self-preparation of drugs. At the same time, do not forget that there is no recognized natural panacea for diabetes. In the treatment of folk remedies, even those that seem very effective, you need to consult with an endocrinologist and regular monitoring of blood sugar levels.    

Naturally, in parallel with the use of traditional medicine, it is advisable to stop drinking alcohol and smoking, to observe a rational diet, which should have a lot of vegetables, fruits, nuts, dairy products. Diabetics should include cabbage, cucumbers, legumes (especially beans), beets, radishes, onions, garlic, spinach, parsley, lettuce, unsweetened apples and pears, citrus fruits (especially grapefruits), blackberries, viburnum, mountain ash, blueberries and lingonberries , walnuts, cereals, grain bread, low-fat sour-milk products.

Fruits, vegetables and berries are preferably consumed raw or with minimal heat treatment. It’s better not to cook porridge, but to cook it from cereals, boiled with boiling water and aged until swelling. By the way, as an independent healing drug, you can use two tablespoons of buckwheat grinded in a coffee grinder in a glass of low-fat kefir. Take morning and evening 40 minutes before meals.

According to the same principle, an infusion of green garlic feathers is prepared, which must first be crushed, and it is better to grind it. If the smell does not suit, the onion can be baked in the oven (not in the microwave). The baked onion is eaten once a day, in the morning or in the evening, half an hour before a meal. In addition, tincture is prepared from onion in vodka (1 to 10) or alcohol (1 to 5). Tincture is taken twice a day for a teaspoon diluted in water.  

Of the medicinal plants used to reduce blood sugar, infusions are most often made. To prepare the infusion, you can use inflorescences and leaves of clover. A tablespoon of crushed raw materials is poured with a glass of boiling water (about 200 ml), insisted for at least 3 hours, taken a third of a glass three times a day before meals.

The same principle of preparation and reception of infusions from dried bay leaves, leaflets of bean pods, birch buds, St. John’s wort. Rowan berries, horsetail grass, nettle and blueberry leaves take two tablespoons per glass of boiling water, and a teaspoon of dandelion and burdock roots . Drink these infusions in a third of a glass.  

Veronica, sushitsa, barberry fruits, black elderberry flowers for infusions are taken in a tablespoon in a glass, but they take two tablespoons three times a day. Lilac buds also brew a tablespoon, but take only a teaspoon three times a day. 

In the preparation of infusions, complex collections of several medicinal plants are widely used. Their ratio can be found in reference books, but can be compiled independently, taking as a basis the amount of raw materials used to prepare the infusion from each type of plant. For example, two tablespoons of horsetail and blueberry leaves, one tablespoon of clover and bean pods, one teaspoon of burdock roots per liter of boiling water. Ready-made complex fees can be bought at the pharmacy, as well as sets of individual medicinal plants.

Aromatic tea can be brewed from medicinal plants that help lower blood sugar levels, and coffee substitute can be prepared from chicory roots. For tea, St. John’s wort, linden flowers, rosehip and hawthorn berries, clover, leaves of wild strawberry, blackcurrant and lingonberry are well suited.

Significantly less often than infusions, decoctions are used, since when preparing them, some of the useful substances are lost. But it’s decoctions made from some plants, for example, from aspen bark. To do this, a tablespoon of crushed dried bark is poured with a glass of boiling water and kept in a water bath or low heat for at least 20 minutes. Take a decoction of two tablespoons three times a day before meals. Sometimes a decoction is also made from the roots of burdock, blueberry leaves, and oat grains. 

A healing broth is obtained if dried pears, viburnum berries and mountain ash are boiled over low heat for 10 minutes. Berries can also be used frozen. Such a decoction is drunk during the day instead of compote.
